about SM R&D

A Mixed-Methods Approach to the Human–Technology Intersection

I approach every research question from how people naturally think, behave, and make choices—not from what the technology does. Originally trained as a psychologist, my background provides a methodological maturity focused on preserving human brilliance and the human element in tandem with rapid technological evolution. I bring a rare mix of deep methodological rigor and high-velocity tech speed to complex, mission-driven domains.

At Accurx—a healthcare communication platform used by 98% of UK GP practices—I spearheaded end-to-end product research as the sole embedded researcher across two core teams, optimizing clinician workflows against aggressive engineering timelines. At the Data Collaborative for Justice (DCJ), I lead-authored statewide analytics, built the organization's first qualitative framework, and engineered the interactive geospatial heatmaps that anchored the legislative case for the 2023 Clean Slate Act.

I operate across the full mixed-methods spectrum, holding the communication of data to the same high standard as data gathering. Insights that fail to resonate with product, design, and engineering teams cannot drive systemic change, no matter how impactful the data might be. SM Research & Design serves as the hub for this work, integrating rigorous research lifecycles, information architecture, and strategic insight delivery.

If you are tackling a complex research challenge—whether understanding users, translating data into product direction, or making findings land—let’s connect. I focus on high-growth healthtech, policy-adjacent spaces, and mission-driven scale-ups, backed by an MA in Forensic Psychology (John Jay), a BSc in Psychology (UCD), and UX design credentials.
